Social Service Programs

FOCUS offers an array of health awareness and social service programs aimed at enhancing the overall quality of life for Latinos and other Essex County residents. The emergency assistance program provides temporary relief and assistance for individuals with low and moderate income levels to restore basic human needs and encourage families to become self-supporting. An effective referral system insures that all clients are provided with some level of emergency services if and when needed.

Emergency Assistance

Limited temporary assistance is given to individuals facing an emergency or crisis. Individuals who qualify receive food vouchers, food packages, rent, and/or utility assistance. Nutritional workshops are offered to teach individuals with a limited budget how to shop for groceries to maintain a healthy diet.
